There are to many listings for this event that one link is not enough. So below there are several links for the Sturgis Rally. Each one has something different to offer in the way of information, lodging, events, etc.

There are so many places to ride during the rally that it is hard to do them all.  We had to check out Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer Park. The ride along Iron Mountain was incredible. We enjoyed the town of Deadwood and most of all Sturgis itself.

The town of Sturgis is not that big with a population in the hundreds, but during the rally the population is in the thousands. Closed shops become alive and are opened for the tourist and the bars get wild.  We especially enjoyed the Dungeon and One Eyed Jacks.  The Dungeon is a small whole in the wall bar that is under ground, but it has a lot of atmosphere that is right up our alley. If you get a chance to go there look up on the ceiling. Patricia is immortalized there for all to see. One Eyed Jacks is a block long with 4 bars inside on 3 levels.  It is a party spot with girls having fun ala Coyote Ugly and Hogs & Heffers.

But the place to really party has to be the Full Throttle Saloon.  It is enormous both inside and outside. You could ride your bike right into the party. They have a great concert at night and there is always something happening there no matter which direction you look in. Every town should have a bar like this.

Everyone has there own preference when it comes to this event. Some riders are interested in the rides, some are interested in the parties, while others want to just experience this life changing event.  There is something for everyone there.

For us we wanted the rides, the parties, the whole experience so we chose to stay at the most wildest campground there is. The Buffalo Chip.  It is 5 miles from the town of Sturgis, but the Chip is a city in itself. During the time before and after the rally it is a farm, but when the rally comes it changes into a whole other world.

No matter if you want to tent it or trailer it.  It has every thing you need including a store, restaurants and bars.  Every night a head liner act performs in the arena while bikes do burn outs above one of the many bars while girls dance naked on the bar below.  Or you can watch the concert in the Jack Daniels bar that is something to see.

At the Chip any thing goes.  Don’t be surprised to be standing in your camp while watching naked women stroll or drive by on a bike or golf cart. You may want to bring lots of beads.   Guys get very creative and they bring mobile strip clubs and motorcycles that are designed for women’s pleasure.  This place can only be referred to as the closet to a modern sodom and gomorrah.

If you do not like music and partying 24/7 and adults being adults (no children allowed here) then you may want to camp somewhere else. We had a great time staying there.
